About us

Since 2021 Divinerinnen have been dedicated to the touching melodies of Viennese music. With unusual instrumentation, the young ensemble focuses on previously undiscovered archive treasures and modern compositions. Its intention is to musically find new sounds in Schrammel music. The seven musicians are reflecting the musically colorful Vienna of the 21st century. Their influences range from the philharmonic New Year's concert to music played in the traditional wine tavern "Heuriger", from teaching to scientific activity, from dance-floor to musicals. From this diversity emerges a multifaceted, sensual pleasure.

Pia Madlener

Pia Madlener

Viennese button accordion

Pia Madlener studies accordion at the MUK Vienna in the class of Prof. Grzegorz Stopa, shortly after completing her degree in restoration, when she found it a little too lonely in this field.
As an interpreter of the classical accordion, she is active as a soloist and as a member of several ensembles in a wide variety of formations, and also plays the chromatic button accordion in Viennese music ensembles. Her background as a restorer has more than once helped to overcome the one or other infirmity of this ‘moody’ instrument. In performances at home and abroad - between Küniglberg and South Korea - she juggles music from Bach to Bartok, Breton dance music to Viennese song. In addition, she is mainly interested in languages, devoting herself to transcribing Arabic dialects and analysing them sociolinguistically. When her legs fall asleep, she runs up a mountain.
